Maggie Sumrall Dixon

Maggie has extensive criminal law experience both as a criminal defense attorney and as a prosecutor. Before founding The Sumrall Firm, Maggie worked at Varner & Peacock handling family law matters, primarily contested divorce actions, as well as criminal cases. Prior to that, Maggie was an Assistant District Attorney here in the Houston Judicial Circuit handling an array of Felony cases to include drug offenses, financial crimes, aggravated assaults, firearm offenses, and more. Before her move back home to Houston County, Maggie worked in the Atlanta area as an Assistant Solicitor-General for over five years handling DUIs, misdemeanor level shoplifting/thefts and domestic violence related offenses, as well as all traffic violations.

Maggie also worked in the Macon Judicial Circuit as an Assistant Public Defender in the Major Felonies Division where she represented clients vigorously and gained valuable trial experience taking more than a dozen cases to a jury trial with high success rates. 

Maggie is a native of Houston County where she graduated from CFCA in 2004. After receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Georgia State University, she went on to obtain her Juris Doctor degree from Mississippi College School of Law. After practicing criminal law in various circuits throughout Georgia for over 13 years, she moved back to her hometown of Bonaire with her two sons.
